Emotional scenes are expected across the country this week as work begins on repatriating 10,000 tonnes of Irish household and commercial waste illegally dumped in Northern Ireland.
“There’s something for everyone,” a waste officer said. “Used condoms, mouldy food, no one will be disappointed.”
“It’s very emotional,” an Irish dumper reunited with a condom said. “It still fits!”
“I’ve cleaned out the guest room. I can’t believe we’re getting our asbestos back,” a proud housewife said.
