Numerous burglars have written to The Mire this week with the suggestion that people buy sensor lights for someone they love this Christmas.
“Sensor lights give people a much needed sense of security in these trouble times,” a typical caller said. “As the recession deepens it is good for the homeowner to know that they have sensor lights.”
“Also, sensor lights make my job a lot easier. If the homeowner doesn’t have sensor lights I have to bring a torch which means I only have one hand free to pick a lock or break a window…but that’s off the record,” he added.
