A source close to Ivor Callely has spoken out about the appalling conditions the disgraced Senator had to endure aboard the Gravy Train.
“The worse the recession got, the worse conditions on the Gravy Train got,” the source said. “People who previously worked for a living boarded the train without tickets.”
“There was standing room only,” he added. “There was still plenty of gravy but you had to fight tooth and nail with civil servants, solicitors, bankers and surgeons to get your hands on it.”
“Some of those people fight dirty. Ivor saw terrible things,” he concluded. “Inflated expenses are hard got, you can’t blame Ivor for trying to hang on to them.”
