Irish food scientists were today celebrating a breakthrough in the modified evolution of chickens that enables them to grow cut-and-come-again drumsticks.
Scientists have successfully crossed chickens with cut-and-come-again salad leaves and broccolli plants.
“This is the future of food,” a scientist said. “These chickens grow multiple drumsticks and wings that are already southern fried or barbecue flavour.”
“We are now able to completely eliminate breast meat in chickens. As breast meat is widely perceived as healthy there has never really been a substantial commercial market for it,” a food industry analyst said.
The scientist stressed that none of the negative associations of broccolli and salad leaves carried over to the chickens. “We eliminated unwanted nutrients at an early stage,” he assured consumers.
