Senior members of Fianna Fáil are considering forming a new political party to reinstate lavish unvouched expenses for the good of the country.
Unconfirmed reports suggest Senator Ivor Callely and former Ceann Comhairle John O’Donoghue could spearhead the movement
“We need to embrace our tradition of Mercs and Perks,” a source close to the two men said. “In difficult times it is important to play to your strengths and stick to what you do best.”
“When those boys were having a good time, the country was having a good time,” a political analyst said. “If they start having a good time again it could kick-start the whole economy.”
Meanwhile, the analyst was not sure what to make of Fís Nua, another new political party. “Haven’t the foggiest to be honest,” he said. “It might be Lithuanian or Polish or something.”

This a a fabulous idea! Once that is in place we can have a Croke Park in every County!
