The internet was surprisingly cleared of witchcraft today after a laptop accidentally immersed in water by Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte died.
The dramatic events unfolded at an Oireachtas Committee hearing on the evils inherent in the use of social media.
Mr Rabbitte was busy expressing himself eloquently when he knocked a jug of water over a laptop.
“The laptop died immediately,” a source at the meeting said. “There’s no way it was a witch.”
“Maybe it was God,” he added in hushed tones. “I hope we haven’t killed God.”
A disappointed Pat Rabbitte was too distraught to be interviewed.
