Satire at its best: our mess in 10 hilarious chapters

By far the best review of The Eighty-Five Billion Euro Man came from The Tuam Herald who also rated it as one of their best books for Christmas reading.

What riper topic for scathing satire?

It wasn’t a total shock to find that The Irish Times was a bit arsey about it in a mixed review. Curiously, their reviewer thought Michael Noonan was depicted as a drooling infant when in the book he was under constant nursing care and kept medicated. I hesitate to recommend that reviewer as a babysitter.

Review: The Eighty-Five Billion Euro Man by Donal Conaty

The Irish Independent reviewer was positive about the book while seeing it as a “missed opportunity” to write a serious book about the IMF bailout. I agree. Someone should invent Matt Cooper.

Ireland After Nama and The View from the Blue House carried the same largely positive review by Rob Kitchin.

The reviews on Amazon.comĀ  are all 5 star and none of them were written by me or anyone else I know. This is a savage indictment of me and everyone else I know. Must try harder.
